Now you will hear the album “Good night” of the group “DakhaBrakha” for the first time in your life, and may be, I envy you a bit. I envy you, because it is splendid when you first discover something new, real and sincere. But I envy you only a bit – because with each new listening I find new and new stratums, new surprise, new magic and new space in this music. Because it may seem to you only for the first several minutes that you are listening to something familiar, to something which is completely Ukrainian, which is so authentic and archaic, but already (more or less) famous… Now then, know – you will hear nothing of the kind at this disc. To be exact – only similar, but not like that. This album, this performance looks like a step back followed by a step aside and two steps forward. This is an extensional waltz, the squares of which are twirled in a spiral of people’s DNA. At that, in the DNA not of a body, but of consciousness and history (not paper ones, of course). It seems as if subconscious codes are available here, the codes of not only people, but of all alive creatures that exist on the earth – and of the Earth itself. Because everything that is alive by all means responds to this music– this way or that. Somebody is dancing, something is growing, something is flowing… That’s why I am glad that now you will hear - this - as well. And I hope you will become glad as well. So, let joy dance, grow, flow...
